Welcome to the town of
Caswell, Maine
The focal point of the recreational activities within the town is the Dawn F. Barnes Elementary School. The school provides space for both adults and youth to play basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball. There is also a playground with various play equipment located on the school grounds.
Caswell's natural resources are a major recreational asset. There is ample land for hunting and many ponds and streams for fishing. Old logging roads and trails serve as cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails in the winter. There are 14.11 miles of snowmobile trails in Caswell that is maintained by local snowmobile clubs through the ITS and NEST system. These trails utilize the private landowner rights of-way and a portion of the Canadian border. It is possible to travel from Caswell north into New Brunswick and south to Houlton and beyond on these trails. ITS 81 is part of 1600 miles of groomed trails system in Maine, the highest number of trails in New England and runs from Pennsylvania to New Brunswick.
