- The County of Aroostook is soliciting bids for two (2) surplus vehicles to be sold in "as is, where is" condition. One (1) 2004 Ford Crown Vic with 173,044 miles, vin #165671 and one (1) 2006 Crown Vic with 136,326 miles (needs motor and back seat), vin #156007.
Both vehicles can be viewed for inspection at the Houlton District Court Building parking lot located on 25 School Street in Houlton. Lt. Keith Wheeler is the contact person.
Bids must be in a sealed envelope marked "Vehicle Bid No. (vin), Do Not Open" and must be received at the County Commissioners' Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Bid opening shall take place at the Caribou Courthouse Administrative Hearing Room, 144 Sweden Street, Caribou, Maine, at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010.

- The County of Aroostook is soliciting bids for Lighting Replacement at two (2) buildings in Houlton:
Sheriff's Office Building, 25 School Street, Houlton
Superior Court Building, 26 Court Street, Houlton

Bids must be sealed and marked "Houlton Electrical Lighting Project - Do Not Open" and received at the Office of the County Commissioners no later than 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Bid opening shall take place at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in the Administrative Hearing Room on the second floor of the Sheriff's Office Building, 25 School Street, Houlton, Maine.
This project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) as part of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program through the United States Department of Energy.
